Annual Programme 2026 & New Vision for the Heidi Horten Collection
With the appointment of Verena Kaspar-Eisert, the Heidi Horten Collection positions itself as an open space for thought and experience, in which the collection, exhibition programme and art education interact on an equal footing. The existing collection is consistently re-read from a contemporary perspective, selectively expanded – particularly through female and contemporary positions – and placed in dialogue with current social issues.
The 2026 programme traces a thematic arc from the major spring exhibition ANIMALIA. Of Animals and Humans, to compelling artistic interventions in public space such as Gottfried Bechtold. Concrete Porsche, to a comprehensive solo exhibition of Elisabeth von Samsonow, as well as collection presentations focusing on Andy Warhol’s early work. The exhibition programme is accompanied by a wide-ranging education and outreach offer, with a strong focus on inclusion, children and young people.
All details on the programme, collection, education and the institution’s strategic direction can be found in the press text download.
