Art that amazes and art that bewilders. Some you find beautiful and some not so much. Discovering art with all of your senses or becoming an artist yourself: the Heidi Horten Collection is a great place for families to explore – at all levels. With a vibrant museum programme for kids and adults and family-friendly services, the needs of our youngest guests take centre stage. Why? Because laughing children make a museum come alive!

PRIVATE ART WORKSHOPS FOR YOUR FAVORITE CROWD
Want to spend some unforgettable hours? Then grab your favorite people and discover magical colors, mysterious shapes, and crazy ideas. Under the theme “ART ADVENTURE,” challenging interactive tours transform our museum into a place full of play, fun, and inspiring surprises. Alternatively, you can let your creativity run wild at the KIDS FACTORY—during an exciting workshop in the studio.
COST / DURATION
- €320 or €420 for up to 10 or 8 children and 2 adults, respectively.
- Duration: 2 or 2.5 hours.

LITTLE ART TROLLS
Workshops for young children (ages 3–6)
Do you have lots of quirky ideas and colorful dreams in your head? Then you’re a perfect fit for us! Dash through the museum with us and take a close look at great works of art. Shine as brightly as sparkling fire-engine red and cheerful splashy blue, meet famous artists, and invent your own funny stories. With plenty of fresh inspiration, you’ll create a special handmade keepsake in our studio to take home.

- A relaxed atmosphere is especially important for young children. Participation of children under 6 is therefore only possible when accompanied by a trusted adult.
- Children and adults (including admission): €4.50 / €3.00 with a WienXTRA Kids Activity Card.
- Duration: 2 hours.

BABY BREAK
Art with your baby
Everyone knows moms and dads are the best. But since new parents also deserve a little me-time, these relaxed guided tours make it easy to combine art and baby. Everything you need is provided—from changing tables to nursing spaces. Crawling, babbling, and lots of mutual understanding are warmly welcomed. Sleeping baby? Perfect. Awake baby? Also perfect. Crying baby? Welcome to the club!

WHO'S TALKING OVER THERE?
Family Workshops (ages 3–12)
Shh… can you hear that? Maybe a tree is whispering, a seashell holds a story, or deep beneath our feet, the heart of the Earth is glowing. Together with Elisabeth von Samsonow, we’ll follow the quiet voices of a world where all living things are inextricably connected. We’ll tell stories, marvel, feel, create, and playfully discover that every single voice counts—ours as humans, as well as those of animals, plants, and the Earth, which is home to us all.

Marvel at art, enjoy its beauty, learn more about it—and create your own! In our Kids Factory, a whole range of surprising experiments awaits you. Dive into imaginative art worlds, try out new techniques step by step, and discover what’s inside you—from exciting printmaking methods and photographic tricks to a colorful “paint kitchen” and clever upcycling projects.
