THE LINE
For nurseries, primary schools, and secondary levels I and II
Straight as an arrow or wildly tangled? Lines are everywhere! Since the dawn of humanity, the line has spanned our globe and run like a red thread through art: sometimes it gives things contour, stumbles in zigzags or curls like a worm; sometimes it marks boundaries, sometimes it connects. But can a line also create belonging and gratitude? Can it dance, build bridges, and tell stories? Together we explore the marvelous world of the line. We let lines conquer space, experiment with string games, create comics, transform words into images, marvel at optical illusions, and weave a net that brings our ideas and identities together. Because as Reena Saini Kallat reminds us: we live in a world where cultures do not exist in isolation, but are closely interwoven.
Three age-appropriate programs are designed for nursery groups and students at the primary and secondary levels I and II. Hands-on elements and participatory methods stimulate independent thinking, sharpen perceptual skills, and invite holistic learning.

HOW IMAGINATION CAME INTO ART
Klimt ⇄ Warhol for primary schools
Have you ever wondered how imagination found its way into art? Join us on an adventure through the art of the last 100 years, where you’ll discover dancing brushstrokes, wild colors, and crazy ideas. How does Klimt make his paintings tremble? Why do faces and animals suddenly explode with color? What drives an artist to paint the seemingly impossible? Who was Andy Warhol? And what are cut-up pictures doing in a museum?
We’ll playfully dive into the fantastic world of big ideas, surprising art techniques, and world-famous masterpieces through exciting stories and creative experiments.
This workshop builds students’ confidence, sparks their curiosity, and improves their language skills in a positive and interactive atmosphere. Through sensory experiences and hands-on art activities, students are introduced to groundbreaking art movements of the 20th century. Perfect also for German language learners!

HOW DOES A MUSEUM WORK?
For secondary level I and II
Empowering Minds, Inspiring Hearts! A museum can only fully unleash its potential with its visitors, with curious explorers and critical participants. But what is a museum, really? What’s its purpose? How does it operate? And who decides what counts as art? From collecting and preserving to researching, educating, and promoting, we’ll explore the steps of how an exhibition comes together, all through the lens of different roles in the museum world. Along the way, we’ll discuss how museums can promote social justice and take on historical responsibility. By the end of the workshop, students will become exhibition makers themselves!
Museum Backstage! This workshop will not focus on art historical analysis. Instead, Secondary I and II students will have a hands-on opportunity to see what goes on behind the scenes at a museum.
